If you are looking for minis or junior rugby and live within the Grantham area, you’ve come to the right place!
Kesteven RFC proudly boast a thriving minis and juniors section and in recent years hundreds of children have come along to the Woodnook ground to play rugby on a Sunday morning.

The season starts on the first Sunday in September and continues until the first Sunday in May. There are teams for all age groups from under 7 to under 19 and even children as young as four play provided they are of a reasonable size and can throw and catch a ball. Boys and girls play in mixed teams up to the end of their under 12 season. Under 7’s and Under 8’s play tag (or touch) rugby and progress to contact and scrums from under 9 onwards. By the time players leave the minis and join the juniors at under 13 level, they are playing 15 a side rugby on full sized pitches.

The season begins with training sessions every Sunday in September, so an ideal time to come along if you want to find out what rugby is like to play. Just come along in whatever sports gear you have, but bearin mind it can get cold on a rugby pitch in winter. Training starts at 10.30am, with people arriving fromfrom 10am onwards. Training finishes normally around 12.15pm.

Each age group has its own qualified coaches and from the beginning of October onwards the season progresses with a pattern of training one week and a match against another local side the following week. In between there are various festivals and tournaments. Most away fixtures are usually within a 30 to 40 miles of Grantham and the Club ensures everybody who requires a lift gets one.

The Club has the correct size pitches for all the minis age groups (under 7's to under 12's) and the juniors play on full size senior pitches.
